What Is This Website About?
This is
the private homepage of a team of German constructors and pilots of an
American homebuilt aircraft, a Pulsar XP.
The Pulsar XP is a small two-seat low wing-aircraft
designed by Mark Brown. It has a span of a little more than 25 feet and a
gross weight of about 515 kg (~ 1,130 lb). It is as fast as some 135 kts in
cruise and powered by a rather small engine, a Rotax 912 with about 80 hp.
The airplane was built by Josef and Peter Holland. Josef is the father of
Peter who is nevertheless 50 years of age. The pilots are Peter, Kathrin
Diederich (women's representative in the team) and Alexander, Peter's son.
We started building the plane in 1995 and it became ready to fly by the end
of 1999. The first flight took place on February 07th, 2000. Since then we
follow the flight testing procedures as the German government requests every
homebuilt airplane to be tested extensively. It seems that we will be able
to finish this procedure by the middle of 2008.
We live in the area of the beautiful Rhine valley next to the city of
Ruedesheim, which is probably known to some of you because of the delicious
wine and the "Drosselgasse". Maybe some of you have visited the small town
and dealt with quite a strong headache after having had a river trip
followed by a long night there.
Our plane is deployed in hangar 4 at Mainz-Finthen Airfield (EDFZ), about 30
kilometers (19 miles) east of Ruedesheim.
You are heartily invited to take a look at our page, but please forgive us
that we haven't translated all the contents yet. We have planned to do so,
but it will take us quite a lot of time. If you do not understand German but
are interested in what you see or what you can assume, please do not
hesitate to contact us. You will find the email adresses by clicking on
"Kontakt"
and we will try to answer your questions as good as we can. As English is
not our native language, we are sure that there will be some mistakes in our
choice of words and grammar, but we hope you will accept our apology for any
mistake.
Have a nice time looking at the aircraft and the team,
The Pulsar Team of Hangar Four
